Weather Impact update
Further to yesterday’s note I write to give you an update on our current operational situation.
Snow and severe weather continue to impact certain parts of the country while other areas have now returned to normal.
We ran a successful Sunday operation yesterday and reduced our national backlog to around 30% of our current off-peak capacity.
Regarding the backlog in Scotland we estimate that this may take us towards the end of the week as weather conditions still remain challenging in a number of areas.
We are pleased to confirm our collections service is operating as normal.
We are also please to confirm DPD Ireland has reopened but has a significant backlog, which will take several days to clear.
You will be aware that we are doing everything possible to minimise the disruption, but in all depots that are impacted we are currently unable to guarantee Premium Services (before 10:30, before noon) and therefore we still recommend you remove this option for your customers.

02/03 – EI Snowed in

There will be no shipments out of EI today. DPD have not dispatched any of their drivers from the Bristol hub therefore there will be no collection.

The latest from DPD here:

Extreme weather conditions continue to impact our operations across the UK

The severe weather conditions we’re experiencing further deterioriated in much of the UK last night, which has resulted in a large number of our sites closing today, including all depots in the South West region.

Amber and yellow warnings for snow, ice and wind still cover most of the UK, and the Met Office says the disruption could run into next week.

DPD Ireland has closed all its operations until Monday 5 March.

A full and detailed update will be sent at 11am, and in the meantime you can review all postcodes affected with our live update service here:

28/02 – Update from DPD on Adverse Weather Conditions

Heavy Snow is severely impacting our operations in Scotland, East Anglia, Yorkshire, the North East and the South East of England

The severe weather conditions experienced in the UK are continuing to impact our parcel collection and delivery services today.

Snow and ice have hindered our operation throughout the night and this morning, particularly in Scotland, Newcastle, Durham, Yorkshire, Snetterton, Chelmsford, Peterborough, Sussex, Kent, Maidstone, Essex and parts of London with many of the local roads affected.

Dublin Airport was also closed last night due to heavy snow, which means any Next Day parcels due for delivery in Ireland today will incur a 24 hour delay.

The Met Office are predicting more heavy snowfall to move West across the country in the coming days, which will further impact our operations.

We will always attempt to deliver and collect, wherever it is possible and safe to do so.

Throughout the day you will be able to review those postcodes affected with our live update service here:

Deliveries into these postcodes are likely to be delayed. If we have your customers contact details, we will keep them updated on the status of their delivery.

We will continue to monitor the situation and update you as and when necessary.
